Sports enthusiasts are well catered for by Skierniewice's modern and well equipped recreational complex.
Amongst the many facilities available here are tennis courts, sports halls, stadiums and multifunctional pitches. After your, no doubt exhausting, physical exertions you can always treat yourself to a relaxing session in the centre's sauna.
The municipal swimming baths “Nawa” has 2 pools. The large pool meets the requirements of the league of masters and is often used for organizing swimming competitions. The smaller pool is mainly for recreational activity use. The complex also has its own spa, gym, saunas and jacuzzi.
Near the centre of the town you can find the „Zadębie” reservoir (length of 2.1 km, average depth of 2,15 m, surface area of 25.7 ha).The reservoir is marked with a modern canoe course accommodated to sports events in the league of masters and the international boat-racing.
The reservoir also has many facilities such as watering place with piers, water equipment rental and a sandy beach where beach volleyball competitions take place. Additionally, there is a surfaced path all the way around the reservoir for cyclists and walkers. Next to the reservoir you can also find a multifunctional sports pitch and a modern skate park.
If you are a fisherman, you will find the reservoir is well stocked with fish.
If you are looking for peace and tranquility then what better place to go than the Bolimowski Landscape Park situated right on the town's doorstep. The park is one of the most valuable wildlife reserves in Skierniewice region.
There is much to see in the park: 70 nests of white storks, habitats of beavers along the Rawka river, over 160 species of protected animals and over 200 species of rare plants some of which are in danger of extinction.
The park is well equipped for tourists and there are 12 walking and cycle tracks, 15 didactic paths, 5 nature reserves and as well as a canoe natural route along the Rawka river.
